Products & licences

The Microsoft 365, security, backup and other subscriptions you select. Quantity, product edition, commitment and renewal terms are confirmed in the quote.

Managed operations

The people and processes that look after your agreed environment. Included work is covered by the service fee; it is not charged again as remote support. The same task must not also be billed under the separate hourly workplace-support item.

Usage & projects

Variable Azure consumption is shown separately from cloud management. Migrations, new deployments and other excluded changes need their own approved scope.

Managed service or ad hoc support?

A low-use business may spend less on ad hoc work. A managed agreement adds planned maintenance and an agreed service commitment.

Ad hoc / individual work
Approved work at the applicable service rate. Proactive tasks are commissioned separately; availability is arranged when the request is accepted. Written work authorisation and payment terms apply.
Managed agreement
A fixed fee for the agreed ongoing scope, with approved exclusions separately. Defined monitoring, maintenance, reviews, coverage and response targets follow the annual service agreement. Licence terms are separate.
Advanced cloud work
Classified by expertise and scoped before starting. Included only where the cloud management schedule covers the task.

Microsoft licensing explained

Your commitment and your payment schedule.

A monthly invoice does not always mean a month-to-month subscription. Check the commitment, payment frequency and total cost together before choosing an option.

Monthly term · paid monthly

A one-month commitment, where offered. This shorter commitment is generally priced higher than the equivalent annual option. Renewal and cancellation terms still apply.

Annual term · paid monthly

A 12-month commitment paid in monthly instalments. Paying monthly does not remove the annual commitment, and the price may differ from paying upfront.

Annual term · paid upfront

A 12-month commitment paid for the year in advance. Compare the total annual cost and your expected licence needs, as reductions during the term are restricted.

Cancellation windows and advance notice

Standard Microsoft CSP New Commerce Experience (NCE) terms normally allow cancellation within seven calendar days (168 hours) of purchase or completed renewal, subject to applicable law. After that window, the remaining committed term generally remains payable. Seat reductions have their own timing rules.

A COMPUREP notice period, such as 30 days if agreed in your contract, is separate from Microsoft’s cancellation window. It does not create a 30-day refund right or shorten an annual commitment. Confirm any change against your exact subscription before relying on a cancellation date.

Know your dates and what your service includes

Your quote and subscription schedule should identify the exact product, licence quantity, term start and end dates, and next renewal instruction. Your invoice should identify the service period being charged. These dates can differ from the invoice date and the monthly payment date.

At expiry, confirm whether the subscription will renew, cancel, or move to paid Extended Service Terms where eligible. Do not assume that an auto-renew setting alone confirms the outcome.

Compare like-for-like Microsoft editions, including whether Teams is included. A COMPUREP proposal should distinguish the licence charge from selected administration, security, backup and managed support, with the responsibilities and exclusions clearly stated.
